Charles awoke as a rancid smell filled his nostrils. He wrinkled his nose as his eyes opened. Raising a hand he wiped at them and tried to focus. He was in a room, with a stone floor a metal door with a slit at the bottom and the walls were stained brown. A small dim light hung over his head inside wire.
Charles felt cold and wet, he looked down at himself, his uniform was gone he was barefoot his feet were sore and dirty, he wore black pants ripped at the bottoms and they felt damp. His shirt was another’s a dark gray and long sleeved, it hung off his frame, and was wide at the shoulders causing the right side to slide off his shoulder completely. His hair was messing and his mouth tasted dry. Taking in a deep breathe he stood, the pants hung loose around his hips, he looked around the room no bigger then the hotel room he was in which he guessed a few hours ago.
Charles looked to the slit in the door getting onto his hands and knees he crawled along the cold wet stone and touched the sliding panel with his fingers looking for a gap, he found it but no matter how hard he tried it wouldn’t move. Probably locked from the outside. Giving up after a few more tries he descended back against the wall, leaning his head back, he was cold and hungry he ached and all he could think about was how to get out.

Daniela walked throught the camp, all the men stopped everything to stare at her. It didn't bother her, she was used to this behavior. She wore a dark purple dress, the skirt going to her knees. Her heels clicked whenever they hit the small stones in the path, and she carried a white umbrella, for it was drizzling.
Reaching the building on the far side of the camp, she knocked on the door. A German officer let her in, making rude comments that she paid no mind to. She only had a mind for Charles. Pulling the umbrella closed, she laid it on the table and showed her clearance to see the prisoner. First she got a bowl of warm water and a cloth.
When they opened the door for her, she let her eyes adjust before going inside.

Charles jerked as he heard the door open with a rusty sound. His eyes squinted against the light from outside the room he was in. Then they settled on a person he thought he’d never see again in this lifetime. “Daniela!” he said his voice quiet but his British accent heard never the less. He tried to rise but his legs ached he looked up to her “but how?” he questioned rubbing the side of his neck then the back of it. His eyes never leaving her, for the first time in his life he was over joyed to see her.

The tears she had been suppressing outside were spilling out of the corners of her eyes. She knelt next to him, placing the bowl on the floor. "Charlie, Charlie, Charlie." She said with a sigh. Dipping the cloth into the water, she brought it up to his face and very gently wiped some of the grime away. She began to clean the gash on the side of his head where they had hit them.
"You really did it good this time, didn't you?" she asked finally.

Charles took in a sharp breath as he felt the warm water clean the gash off the side of his head. He managed a faint laugh and a grin “yes I did…and once again you show up…” he let his voice trail off as his eyes looked to her. Rising his right hand he ran it gently threw her black hair. Swallowing he bit his lower lip before leaning forward and placing his lips upon hers. Hers were soft and warm unlike his that were cold at the moment. Charles deepened the kiss and shifted his body so he faced her, his hand grasp hers that held the cloth. His passion for her he held for nine full years was spilling out.

He surprised her, he had always had a knack for doing that. After the initial surprise, however, she totally lost herself into his kiss. Her body sprang to life, and she had to pull her head away from his to stop from taking him then and there. She had never stopped loving him, even after what he'd done to her.
"Charlie..." she breathed, resting her forehead on his. "I lied..." she said with a deep intake of breath. "I did forgive you..."

Charles tried his best to control his heavy breathing he watched as Daniela pulled her mouth form his and turned her head away. Then he felt her forehead upon his, his eyes looking her over as she spoke she had forgiven him!. A small faint grin appeared on his mouth, he pulled his head back and kissed her forehead cheek and jaw line before placing his hands on her shoulders. “I thought you…I never stopped loving you…” he let his voice trail off once more before resting his forehead against hers again his breathing still heavy.

"I've always loved you. I tried not to, believe me, I did. I just couldn't do it." the tears were falling again, "I'm so sorry." she sobbed, laying her head on his shoulder, "I spied for them, sabotaged, I..." she could hardly bring herself to say the next word, "Murdered... for them." she drew back to look at him, "All because I was angry. I'm sorry." she touched his face.

She stood with him and wiped her face and eyes with the back of her hand, "I'm supposed to be interrogating you." she said. Forcing herself to breathe normally, "I'm going to get you out of here." she said.

Charles laughed at her comment. "Well lets find a way out, open the door" he said walking over to it he turned the handle. It opened with a creak, peering out of the crack Charles spotted the guard. He lookd over his shoulder to Daniela "there is a gaurd out there....what now" he said, if he had his gun or a knife he could ust kill him but he didn't.

She smiled a sardonic, sad smile. "I'm Lady Daniela Calandra. They won't question me." she said. "If I walk you out of here, they'll most likely send someone for my protection." She walked over to the door to stand next to him.

Faxon opened the door, eyes bulging in surprise to see them both so close. And tear stained. The Captain looked from both of them, brows arching. "Lady, what are you doing?" He asked, voice low, confused, and with a dripping hint of menacing suspicion. Faxon took a few steps forward, forcing the two of them back into the room and put his hand on the holster of his gun. "Where were you taking him?" He asked.
He didn't want to question her loyalty, so his mind was grinding out anything that could pin it on the captured soldier.

"I was taking the prisoner to a place where he can be interrogated more... thoroughly." she said quietly, looking at Faxon. She tried to keep her face serious but not too serious. "You know how it is, they don't much care for talking in dirty prison cells."

Charles looked shocked but quickly made a depressed face, this Nazi wasn't going to wreck his chances of getting out of here. He hoped Daniela knew what she was doing. But if the german tried anything Charles would take him on.
