Amelinda followed the soldiers as they searched the house, just in case they got too curious or close to where Jonas was. When they seemed to be done Amelinda started ushering them to the door. One of the soldier's, the soldier from before actually, stopped before leaving and gave her a look over, reaching out and pulling her close to him. "I know you're hiding him, bitch. We will find him." Amelinda glared at him, pulling away from him. "Don't speak to me in such a manner," she said to him, closing the door in his face.
She headed back upstairs after taking a few calming breaths and went into her room, going over to the door/wall and opening it slowly.

Jonas murmured his prayers over and over until she opened the wall. He was still crouched on the floor then, his hands clasped tightly together, his eyes closed. He looked up at the noise, his heart jumping until he saw it was only her. He slowly got to his feet, "Did everything go okay?" he asked quickly, looking her over for any injuries.

Amelinda nodded her head, forcing a smile onto her face. "It went fine," she said. "They're gone, but if you're thinking about leaving you can't. The soldier from before was here and he'll be waiting to see if you leave the house or not," she said.

He walked over to her, still frowning some, "I guess, I will just have to stay then," he said after a moment, looking away from her. He couldn't leave if that soldier was out there waiting for him, well, he could, but it wouldn't be the smartest thing. He sighed quietly, "I don't know how I will repay you for all of this.."

Amelinda nodded her head when he said he would stay. "good, I would worry about you if you left," she told him. "And it's getting dark out now, you could get lost," she added. An idea popped into her head to try and lighten the mood and she grinned at him. "Well, when this is all over and done with, because it has to end eventually, you can marry me and that's how you can repay me," she said, grinning still. She wondered what his reaction would be and tried not to laugh at her absurd suggestion just yet.

Jonas slowly nodded, "I probably would get lost..and I wouldn't want you to worry," he stated, smiling faintly. He eyed her after her last statement, he could tell she was joking. He kept back a smile as he looked at her seriously, nodding, "Okay, if that is what you would like," he stated, "I wouldn't mind, if that's what you want me to do to repay you, especially since you can't get any other guy to marry you," he told her with a sigh, watching her now for her reaction.

Amelinda's eyes narrowed briefly at his last words but then she smiled at him in a sickly sweet way. "Well good. Once we get married we can start having kids. I want at least five," she told him, nodding as she raised her hand in the air, holding one finger up. "And I want to be able to decorate the house how I want it," another finger went up," and we just have to get a dog or two," another finger," and we'll just always be so insanely happy," she finished off, smiling that fake smile still. "It'll be just like a fairytale."

He listened to her, smiling faintly now. "So many demands, but of course, you can have all those things and more," he stated. He smiled still as he moved closer to her, standing just in front of her, eyes fixing on her own, his hand brushing hers lightly. "I only ask one thing...that the kids are raised with my religion.." he told her, "Raised to be good Jewish children." He watched her after he said this, wondering how she would react to that, if she would even care..if it would bother her or not. "And perhaps, you can adopt the religion as well.." he added, "I'm sure that would more please my mother."

Amelinda raised her eyes up to his face, the fake smile fading into her normal, peaceful smile as she looked up at him. "But of course the children can be raised with your religion. It would only be fair," she said with a tiny nod. "The children will be Jewish, and maybe I will adopt the religion as well, if you teach me about Judaism. I really know nothing of it." She studied his face closely, her eyes scrutinizing every little detail. She briefly thought of how serious the conversation had turned, noting that there really wasn't much of a joking tone to it anymore and she realized that if times were different and they had known each other and were to be married then she would be making the same statements, the same promises.

Jonas studied her, figuring out if she was being truthful or not. It amazed him really, that she would do that. With all that was happening, he didn't think anyone would want them, or children (even if imaginary), to adopt Judaism. He gave her a slight smile, "Thank you," he said quietly, looking at her with a different expression in his eyes now, as if he'd found more respect in him for her. He reached down, grasping her hand briefly, squeezing it gently before he stepped away from her. "So, are you going to keep me locked in here, or am I being offered a guest room to stay in?" he asked her.

"I'm going to keep you locked in here forever, of course," Amelinda said to him, her eyes shining happily. "How else would I keep you around long enough to marry me?" she asked him, grinning slightly. She headed for the door of the room then, unconsciously closing her hand, the hand he had squeezed not a minute ago, into a fist. She opened her bedroom door and stepped into the hall, looking indecisive for a minute before going to a door not too far away from hers and opening it. She nodded to herself and turned to get Jonas. "You can stay in this guest room here," she said, showing him the room. "I'll have Etta get you clean sheets and some pajamas and maybe some new clothes, too.." she said, eying him thoughtfully.

He smiled slightly, "Oh don't worry, I won't run away and leave you to be unmarried for the rest of your life," he teased, looking at her, that playful look returning. He continued to smile as he followed her out of the secret room and out into the hall. He looked into the room she led him to, glancing around. He slowly nodded, "Thank you, again," he said, looking at her.

Amelinda chuckled quietly. "Well if you decided to run away I would just have to chase you down and cry until you promise to stay." She nodded deciding that'd be a good idea. "You're welcome," Amelinda said to him when he thanked her again, nodding. "If you need anything at all you can either ask Etta, she's the servant for this floor, or you can ask me. Just come to my room and get me," she said, nodding again

Jonas looked at her, smiling, "I'm sure you would..and I find it hard to turn away a crying woman," he said with a sigh, shaking his head. "One of my many weaknesses." he looked at her with the smile still on his face, meeting her gaze, holding it. He slowly nodded, finding it amazing how many servants they had, it was odd for him. He wasn't sure why they needed that many, could they not do anything themselves? He nodded another thanks to her, "If we marry, you won't have so many servants..perhaps just one.."

Amelinda grinned. "One of many weaknesses? Well, I think that'll be my goal now.. to figure out what your other weaknesses are," she decided. She broke his gaze after a minute, finding it hard to look at him so she settled on looking around. She looked back at him when he spoke about her not having more than one servant and she slowly nodded. "Alright. That might take some getting used to, but I can manage."
