It was Evangeline's first time in Britain - and she was excited, to say the least. She'd be visiting the military base here, to come and preform for the troops that had just returned from the war. Like always, she hoped that her brother might be here, but she was never really sure where he was stationed any more.. She got letters from him less and less, and it got her worried. Granted, there wasn't many American soldiers here, but there were a few - as well as really any of the Allies troops, she supported them all.

Her preformance had just finished in the warehouse-turned-club they were having their little shindig in - her band was mingling with the troops, and she herself was back in her dressing room. She was getting changed from her rather intricate and crazy stage costume into something a bit more... normal - but not too normal. after all, she always had to look her best. Granted, looking her best didn't necassarily mean 'comfortable', but.. You know what they say, beauty is pain! Her outfit wasn't too bad... Minus the heels. Her feet hurt, but she didn't take them off just yet. Maybe if she was asked to dance she would.

Finally emerging from her makeshift dressing room, she headed out into the club, hoping to mingle herself with the troops - to let them know that she supported them full-heartedly. Once inside the 'club' (which really was a warehouse they used to store planes and the like in, but it had been cleaned out for the occasion), she was greeted with applause and cheers, and with a grateful smile on her face, she began to make her way through the crowd of soldiers, stopping for conversation with whomever decided to speak to her. She grabbed a drink from a passing waitress, just a small glass of wine for now, nothing too strong for Evie - she couldn't really hold her liquor well.

It didn't take her long to make her way to a group that consisted of a few of her band members - a trumpet play and two background singers - as well as a few soldiers. Greeting them with a smile and a light shake of the hand, a kiss on the cheek here and there, she was in her element. This was what she did best - supporting the troops with first preforming, and then, just plain old conversation. It seemed to work most of the time, too.
